Every practice begins with a person.
In Kim's words: how compassion became her path out of burnout, and why she now guides others along it.
Mindful Resilience brings evidence-based mindfulness and meditation to individuals, families, workplaces and communities. Now enrolling: our small-group, 9-week Compassion-Based Resilience Training cohort.
A peaceful world begins with a peaceful mind.
Because a peaceful world begins with a peaceful mind, Mindful Resilience provides our community's youth, parents, and broader community with evidence-based mindfulness and meditation tools to transform stress into resilience and heal from the inside out.
In Kim's words: how compassion became her path out of burnout, and why she now guides others along it.

"I came to this work the way many people do: through my own stress, striving, and the quiet exhaustion of caring for everyone but myself."
"Contemplative practice didn't ask me to do more. It taught me how to recover, steady my nervous system, and respond to life with more clarity and kindness."

"I certified in Compassion-Based Resilience Training through the Nalanda Institute, a program developed at Columbia and Cornell and taught since 1998."

"Small groups, in a warm and unhurried space where every voice belongs. My job is to make the science accessible and the practice doable."

Nine weeks. A small group. Practices you'll keep for life.
Protect your people from burnout. Bring mindfulness and resilience training to your team to improve focus, retention and wellbeing, on your schedule.
For organizations →Start with our current 9-week cohort, a guided, personal journey through the practices that build lasting resilience. More programs are on the way.
Join a cohort →Bring resilience to the people you serve. We partner with nonprofits, faith groups and community organizations to deliver accessible, trauma-aware training.
For communities →Resilience is not pushing harder. It's meeting yourself with compassion.
The science is clear, and so is the practice.
The modern nervous system is running a marathon with no finish line. For professionals especially, chronic stress has quietly become the baseline, and willpower alone can't fix a physiological problem. Mindfulness and compassion practice works with your biology, training the mind and body to down-regulate, recover, and respond with clarity instead of reactivity.

Everything people usually ask before joining a cohort. Still wondering about something?
CBRT is a 9-week, evidence-based training from the Nalanda Institute, developed and tested at the university hospitals of Columbia and Cornell. It brings together mindfulness, compassion, imagery and breath-work to help you reduce stress, prevent burnout and build resilience that lasts.
Not at all. The course works for complete beginners and for people who already practice. Every technique is taught step by step, and Kim checks in often to make sure the practices are working for you.
Anyone carrying chronic stress or feeling close to burnout: professionals, caregivers, parents, helpers and leaders. Teams and organizations can also bring CBRT in-house through our Business and Communities programs.
You meet live on Zoom once a week for a 1.5-hour session in a small group of 10 to 15 people. Each session blends teaching, discussion and two guided meditations, with short practices to carry into your week.
We use a community-contribution model: Sponsor $450, Supporter $350, or Accessible, a sliding scale of $250 or less. Every tier gets the same full program, and no one is turned away for inability to pay.
Pick your contribution tier on the Reserve page, then complete your donation through our secure Zeffy form. Kim will then email you a short registration questionnaire and coordinate the cohort schedule with you directly.
Zeffy is a free fundraising platform built for nonprofits, so your full contribution goes to the program. At checkout Zeffy may suggest an optional tip to support their platform. It is entirely up to you and can be set to $0.
Please reach out before registering at mindfulresilienceinitiative@gmail.com. Contribution adjustments and full scholarships are handled confidentially on the honor system, and full fee waivers are available.
Full refunds are given for cancellations made at least 7 days before the first session. After that, contributions become non-refundable and are treated as a donation that funds future scholarship seats. See our policies for details.
